NO EASY GAMES

Frank Lampard has said that Chelsea should not be lackadaisical in their approach to the match against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge just because the gunners do not have trophy winning experience in recent years. Arsenal will be the visitors to Stamford Bridge this weekend and they will be hoping to enhance their chances of winning a trophy this campaign.

Arsenal have not lifted a major trophy since the 2005 FA Cup victory, but they are now with a chance to lift the Premier league and FA Cup this season. They have qualified for the semifinals of the FA Cup, while they remain only a couple of points behind Chelsea in the league table.

Lampard, who has the experience of winning three league titles with Chelsea, says that his team should not be taking the match easily. Chelsea come on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa last weekend. This has seriously hurt their certainly chances of keeping pace with Manchester City, who closed the gap to just six points with three games in hand. Another defeat would make it very hard for Chelsea to win the title according to its manager Jose Mourinho, who has been consistently downplaying their title aspirations this campaign.

“Maybe Arsenal haven’t got the experience, but they have got a lot of good players and quality. Every team has to break the mould sometime. Manchester City didn’t have the experience a couple of years ago and they won it, so I wouldn’t put too much on that. It’s very simple. Worry about yourselves, where you are at the minute. If we do that and win as many games as we can to the end of the season, we give ourselves a great chance,” said Lampard.

Arsenal lead the table during January, but they have since fallen off the pace.
